En Passant

Set mostly in Manhattan and Nottingham, En Passant recounts two love stories, separated by twenty years, linked by the character of Ian Stringfellow. The narrative also takes the reader to London, Auschwitz, Paris and Israel, on a journey that will determine the destinies of Rebekah and Ian in the first half of the novel and Rowan and Adam in the second half. Inspired by the game of chess, academic studies and a trip to New York, the narrator engages with some big issues like social justice, identity and the Israel-Palestine conflict. There are levels and twists and references to literary theory, politics, chess, progressive rock, philosophy and theology. If you enjoyed The Queen’s Gambit, you might enjoy En Passant too.

You can order En Passant through your indie bookshop or get it as an e-book or paperback from all the major online booksellers including Waterstones, Barnes & Noble, Blackwells, Amazon, Google, etc. Although written in English, if you put the title, my name or the ISBN in a search engine, the book comes up in online booksellers across a wide range of countries.
